Why this skill assessment? 

Before being accepted into our Clinical Coding Auditing short course, where you can gain certification that is recognised by industry, government health departments and the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA), this Skills Assessment will confirm your eligibility for the course and ensure that you get the most out of it.  

 

If you progress to the Clinical Coding Auditing course, the fee for this assessment will be deducted from your course fee.

Course content

Clinical Coding Auditors need (and are expected by employers) to have advanced coding skills, understand, and apply ICD-10-AM and ACHI coding conventions, and have a thorough working knowledge of the Australian Coding Standards and current national ratified advice.

 

The Skills Assessment is an online, 2-hour supervised clinical coding test covering a broad range of casemix which will determine if you have the required accuracy to be eligible for entrance into the short course. 

 

Your study experience

Once you have completed the Skills Assessment test and demonstrate at least 75% accuracy, you will be able to register in the Clinical Coding Auditing short course. 

 

An example test question will be available for you to attempt prior to the assessment date.

Can payment of a course fee be made in instalments?

No, course fees need to be paid in full before you can commence the course.

I have paid the fee for a short course. When will I have access to the course?  

Access to courses is generally available two weeks in advance of the scheduled course start date, or as advised in the registration confirmation email.  Course materials are made available via our Learning Management System (LMS) for which you will be provided with your username and initial password.

Can I arrange payment with a Purchase Order?

Yes, we accept Purchase Orders. Please email to LaTrobeProfessional@latrobe.edu.au and our La Trobe Professional team will provide you with payment details and access to your course.
