This online microcredential, advances on the concepts covered in Introduction to Data Security and Information Assurance and focuses on information integrity.


Together with its companion course, this microcredential can be stacked into a subject for potential advanced standing in the Bachelor of Cybersecurity. 

Course content

Topics include:

  • Assurance of integrity mechanisms and strategies for building common integrity algorithms
  • Assurance of authenticity and ownership using digital signatures
  • Assurance of identity: how digital identity is constructed and the concept of identity federation
  • Assurance of availability and trust in the public domain, using blockchain and other cryptographic techniques.

 On successful completion of this course, you wil be awarded a digital credential and earn 10 credit points that can be accumulated with its partner course, Introduction to Data Security and Information Assurance, to stack into 'Data Security and Information Assurance (CSE2SIA)', a subject within the Bachelor of Cybersecurity. 

Credit for study in this course may be available. This recognises prior study or learning that can be credited towards a qualification, thereby reducing the number of subjects required to complete a course. For further information refer to the advanced standing requirements.
