Why do this course?

Designed for individuals or staff at all levels of an organisation, this course will help you acquire a foundational understanding of LGBTIQ people’s identities and their unique needs when accessing a service.  Drawing on research produced by Rainbow Health Australia and the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (ARCSHS), supported by the largest ever surveys of LGBTIQ health and wellbeing in Australia, the evidence shows that LGBTIQ people are more likely to access and benefit from services that they know to be consistently affirming of their identities and experience. 

 

This course can support organisations to meet the minimum requirements of Rainbow Tick accreditation, under Standards 2 - Workforce Development.

Course content

Developed with Rainbow Health Australia, this online, self-paced 2 hours course includes the following topics:

  •  What does LGBTIQ mean?
  • What is it like to be LGBTIQ?
  • Why do we need LGBTIQ-inclusive services?
  • What can you and your organisation do?

The course will be assessed using an interactive activity, to consolidate learning.

Can payment of a course fee be made in instalments?

No, course fees need to be paid in full before you can commence the course.

I have paid the fee for a short course. When will I have access to the course?  

Access to courses is generally available two weeks in advance of the scheduled course start date, or as advised in the registration confirmation email.  Course materials are made available via our Learning Management System (LMS) for which you will be provided with your username and initial password.

Can I arrange payment with a Purchase Order?

Yes, we accept Purchase Orders. Please email to LaTrobeProfessional@latrobe.edu.au and our La Trobe Professional team will provide you with payment details and access to your course.
